“The innovations and achievements made by Morocco in the field of road infrastructure are examples for the whole of Africa to follow,” Ramonjavelo told the press on the sidelines of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety (February 18-20).
He also stressed that the Mohammed VI International Prize for Road Safety, which was awarded ex-aequo in its first edition to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Road Safety Fund, will help to foster the development of effective public policies on road safety, promote awareness and strengthen the role of the private sector.
Praising the excellent organization of this large-scale event, marked by high-quality exchanges, RAMONJAVELO stressed that the commitments made on this occasion gave “great hope that together we can achieve the goal of reducing the number of deaths and injuries on the roads in Africa and worldwide to less than 50% by 2030.”
