The adoption of the Marrakech Declaration marks a “historic day,” Todt told the press, describing it as an “exceptional edition” held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
According to Todt, “There are far too many road deaths—a reality that causes suffering, but one that can be improved through the commitment of all countries worldwide.” He underscored the significance of the commitments outlined in the Marrakech Declaration.
In this regard, he commended the commitment of governments attending this global event to ensuring that every two-wheeler sold comes with two UN-standard helmets. He described this as a “historic decision that will leave a lasting mark on road safety.”
The Marrakech Declaration, adopted at the conclusion of this international event, reaffirmed the collective commitment to making road safety a global priority.
According to the document, effective solutions must be driven by strong political will, increased investment, collaborative partnerships, and the active involvement of all stakeholders.
