“His Majesty King Mohammed VI ensured an inclusive process by involving all stakeholders to reach a consensus that protects all family members and fosters a stable society,” Mbow told MAP.
She highlighted the reform’s pragmatic approach in addressing challenges faced by Moroccan families, particularly in regulating polygamy to prevent potential social issues.
“With growing openness to dialogue, we are moving toward a consensus that safeguards women’s and children’s rights, ultimately strengthening the family and ensuring societal stability,” she added.
Mbow noted that the revised code prioritizes family unity, emphasizing marriage, its conditions, and the couple’s well-being, while adapting to modern social dynamics.
