Organized by the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) and Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, in close collaboration with UN Tourism, this event will highlight the synergies between innovation and investment, SMIT said in a press release.
The conference will bring together key players such as Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Zurab Pololikashvili, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor and Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, Karim Zidane, SMIT Director General, Imad Barrakad, as well as leading experts in tourism and tourism investment.
This conference will provide a unique platform to explore the latest global trends in technological innovation as applied to tourism, stimulate investment in smart solutions, and support the digital growth of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the sector.
In addition to discussions and debates, the conference will be an opportunity to celebrate excellence in innovation through an awards’ ceremony in recognition of the start-ups that have participated in the competition initiated by SMIT, in partnership with UN Tourism, and shown great promise.
The aim of the competition was to identify the most innovative and cutting-edge projects capable of meeting tomorrow’s tourism challenges. The competition was a fantastic opportunity for start-ups in the tourism ecosystem to showcase their solutions and to benefit from personalized follow-through and support.
Several strategic partnerships will also be announced, underscoring the resolve of all stakeholders to pool their efforts in order to turn Morocco into a world-class destination.
