Akhannouch also expressed Morocco’s appreciation for the stance of Yemen which supports the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara and considers that any solution to this artificial dispute can only be achieved within the framework of Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial unity.

For his part, Al-Zindani reiterated Yemen’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and said the talks covered developments in Yemen as well as broader bilateral cooperation, the Department of the Head of Government said in a press release.

Talks focused on the ways to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Yemen, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and H.E. Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, the same source added.

Discussions also focused on strengthening economic ties and encouraging private-sector investment, Al-Zindani said, adding that the visit is expected to include the signing of several agreements aimed at deepening ties between the two nations.
