“Morocco is privileged to leverage the AfCFTA, thereby driving economic transformation and boosting exports competitiveness,” stated Keabetswe during the 1st AfCFTA Business Forum on intra-African trade.
Drawing on its experience with leading trade partners such as the European Union, Morocco hopes to continue supporting trade integration in Africa by investing in industrial development, promoting innovation, and strengthening trade exchanges, he added.
Keabetswe also praised Morocco’s economic progress, particularly its resilience and diversification into high-value sectors sch as automotive, textiles, and aerospace. He noted that this diversification places Morocco in a favorable position to capitalize on a potential market of 1.4 billion consumers within the AfCFTA.
At the same time, he highlighted that the AfCFTA offers countries with diversified economies unique opportunities for expansion across the continent, affirming that Morocco, through initiatives like the Atlantic Alliance and inter-African partnerships, could play a key role in the growth and economic stability of the region.
Organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Confédération marocaine des exportateurs (ASMEX), this Business Forum aims to offer a wide range of perspectives on regional integration and strategies for developing intra-African trade.
