A security source reported that the individual was taken into custody in Casablanca, stating that a check through the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) database confirmed that the suspect was the subject of a Red Notice, issued for the enforcement of a prison sentence handed down by French courts in mid-2024 for an assault case involving multiple victims and the use of a bladed weapon.
The suspect was placed in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, as part of extradition proceedings in accordance with the relevant national legislation and international treaties.
This operation is part of the ongoing commitment and effective involvement of the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) in strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly in the pursuit of internationally wanted individuals linked to transnational crimes, the same source added.
