Speaking at the event, Ambassador de Cossío highlighted the strategic decision to establish El Salvador’s only diplomatic mission on the African continent in Morocco. “This is a strategic choice, fully aligned with the vision of President Nayib Bukele,” he said.

“We made no mistake by entering Africa through Morocco. There is no better country and no better gateway to the African continent than the Kingdom of Morocco. For that, I extend my gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”

The ambassador also praised Tangier’s rich historical and cultural heritage, referring to the city as a “radiant international city” that has hosted civilizations including the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Visigoths, Vandals, and Phoenicians.

The exhibition, organized by the Embassy of El Salvador in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Tangier, features around twenty works by renowned Salvadoran artists, including Madger Linares, Renacho Melgar, and Carlos Ovidio Rosales.

Running until April 19, El Salvador: Belleza en Colores invites visitors to explore a vivid blend of urban graffiti, traditional portraits, and striking landscapes.

Morocco stands as the "best gateway to Africa," Ignacio de Cossío, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to Morocco, declared during the inauguration of the exhibition El Salvador: Belleza en Colores (Beauty in Colors) on Friday evening in Tangier.
