The pavillion, a showcase for resilient and sustainable agriculture, was inaugurated by Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests Ahmed El Bouari, alongside his German counterpart, Cem Özdemir. The event was also attended by senior Moroccan officials, industry professionals, and representatives of the Moroccan embassy in Berlin.
“The Berlin International Green Week is an ideal platform for Morocco to expand its international partnerships in the agricultural sector, El Bouari pointed out. Morocco aims to promote its products as benchmarks of quality and sustainability, while sharing its expertise in environmentally-friendly agricultural practices, he added.
A total of 21 exhibitors, representing 39 cooperatives (with 1,079 members), are taking part in the event, including one cooperative from disaster areas. Among these exhibitors, eight groups are taking part in an international event for the first time, and 32% of the members of the cooperatives present are women from rural areas, according to line Ministry.
The Moroccan pavilion features the country’s cultural heritage and agricultural wealth through the authenticity and diversity of Moroccan terroir products and high value-added products that meet international standards of quality and sustainability. Among the emblematic products on display are argan oil and its derivatives, olive oil, saffron, dates and aromatic and medicinal plants from the Kingdom’s 12 regions.
Founded in 1926 and having welcomed 103,300 exhibitors and 34 million visitors since its inception, the Grüne Woche is hosting this year no fewer than 1,500 exhibitors from around 60 countries and nearly 400,000 visitors.
