Royal Message Provides Roadmap for Optimal Implementation of Strategic Project of Advanced Regionalization – Official

HM the King kindly stressed the importance for regions and territorial collectivities to fully take their responsibility in promoting an efficient territorial management, in order to completely implement advanced regionalization, he told MAP on the sidelines of the Conference.

He added that the full operationalization of this structuring project, as advocated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, would breathe new life into the development of the Kingdom’s southern provinces.

He also said that advanced regionalization is a strategic choice and a historic opportunity to promote the Kingdom’s socio-economic development, while strengthening its position regionally and internationally.

Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this event, themed “Advanced Regionalization: Facing Today’s and Tomorrow’s Challenges,” was organized by the Ministry of the Interior in partnership with the Moroccan Association of Regions. It marks a significant step in implementing advanced regionalization as a structural institutional reform and a strategic choice for consolidating territorial development.

Participants included government officials, regional presidents, municipal councilors, experts, and Moroccan and international political and economic stakeholders. The conference attracted over 1,500 attendees on-site, 160 international guests, and more than 45,000 online participants, according to organizers.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s Message to the participants of the 2nd National Conference on Advanced Regionalization provides a clear roadmap for the optimal implementation of this strategic project, President of the Regional Council of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, said.
