The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the practical measures outlined in the roadmap for the employment sector, which the government intends to announce soon to invigorate the sector’s momentum. This initiative aligns with the High Guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI, aimed at driving the economic and social development expected in the Kingdom, according to a press release from the Head of Government’s department.

Akhannouch said that the government is closely following the evolving dynamics of the employment sector, and will ensure implementing a range of measures that will have a tangible impact in the short and medium term, with the goal of accelerating the pace of job-creating programs.

He also called for increased mobilization and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure greater alignment and enhance the effectiveness of government interventions.

Participants stressed that employment, which is of crucial importance to the government, has been allocated a budget of around MAD 14 billion under the 2025 Finance Bill to promote the sector. They noted that the roadmap will help create decent jobs opportunities for all social groups, in both urban and rural areas, despite the current challenges.

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting in Rabat on Tuesday on the measures to be implemented to promote the employment sector. The meeting involved the ministerial departments concerned, the High Commission for Planning, the National Social Security Fund and the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT).
