Morocco was represented by a delegation led by the Kingdom’s ambassador to Cairo and its permanent representative to the Arab League Mohamed Ait Ouali.

The Executive Board examined the draft agenda for the 27th ordinary session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Tourism, scheduled for Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

The draft covers strategic themes, including innovation in the tourism sector, intelligent tourism and strengthening joint action in this field between Arab countries.

Other themes cover the impact of climate change on the Arab tourism sector, strengthening economic intelligence capacities in this field, creation of a tourist guide accessible to people with special needs, selection of the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025, and support for the Palestinian tourism sector.

The Council of Arab Tourism Ministers also plans to examine a number of strategic issues, including the complementarity between tourism and cultural heritage in Arab countries, organization of a tourism statistics forum and holding an Arab youth forum for tourism.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Council of Arab Ministers of Tourism’s Executive Board Chérif Fathi highlighted the tourism assets of the Arab region, stressing the need for coordination to promote the region’s tourism products.

Fathi also spoke of the sector’s main challenges, including the governance of artificial intelligence in the Arab region, calling for the development of common mechanisms to address them, while strengthening governance tools at country level.

The Executive Board of the Council of Arab Ministers of Tourism held its 35th session in Cairo on Tuesday, with the participation of delegations from member states, including Morocco, as well as Arab and international organizations concerned with tourism.
