The program for this edition (December 10-11), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, includes several business meetings, high-level scientific conferences and thematic workshops, with a focus on the sustained growth of the Moroccan rail sector.

Speaking at the event’s opening, Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh considered the event a part of the Kingdom’s great ambition and commitment, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to modern, sustainable and innovative rail development.

“Among the sector’s flagship achievements is the El Boraq high-speed train, a pioneering project in Africa which embodies this ambition, with 5 million passengers aboard by 2023”, he enthused, noting that Morocco is actively collaborating in the rail sector with its African partners to stimulate trade, boost economic corridors and reduce territorial disparities.

For his part, ONCF Director General Mohamed Rabie Khlie underlined the importance of this forum at a time when Morocco is proceeding steadily to implementing development plans in all sectors, according to a global, integrated and complementary vision.

In turn, Chairman of the Moroccan TraIndustry (MTI) Rail Cluster Mohammed Smouni underlined this 3rd edition as “a decisive turning point in the organization of this event, with the participation of 200 companies, 120 exhibitors and 15 countries represented”.

Organized by the Moroccan TraIndustry Cluster (MTI), the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE) and Advanced Business Events (ABE), in partnership with Moroccan National Railways Office (ONCF), the Rail Industry Summit showcases the Kingdom’s progress, including flagship projects such as the high-speed line linking Tangiers to Casablanca and other strategic initiatives.

The 3rd Rail Industry Summit opened on Tuesday at the Casablanca Office of fairs and exhibitions (OFEC), attended by 600 participants, including 200 companies from 15 different countries.
