Morocco's Upper House Adopts 2025 Finance Bill's First Part by Majority Vote

During the session, attended by Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget Fouzi Lekjaa, the first part of the Finance Bill was approved by 48 councillors, while 7 voted against and 9 abstained.

In total, 231 amendments were proposed to this part of the Finance Bill to the House of Councillors, 66 of which were accepted, 55 rejected and 110 withdrawn.

According to the report by the House of Councillors’ Finance, Planning and Economic Development Commission, the proposed amendments mainly concerned the tax section, with 177 amendments, followed by the customs section (27 amendments) and 27 other miscellaneous amendments.

The House of Councillors adopted by a majority, at a plenary session held on Thursday, the first part of the Finance Bill  no. 60.24 for the 2025 fiscal year, as amended.
