Speaking at the House of Councillors’ question time, the Minister said that 19,000 people benefited from technical and medical aids while 1,000 project leaders received support for a total budget of MAD 53.5 million, other than the several initiatives launched to boost purchasing power.

Emphasizing that these efforts fall within the framework of the integrated policy to promote the rights of persons with disabilities 2015-2025, Ben Yahya said that this policy mainly aims to align the legislative and regulatory framework and integrate the disability dimension into territorial and national development plans.

She added that the Ministry seeks to promote understanding of disability, by raising society’s awareness and encouraging families to declare their disabled children in order to receive the benefits intended for them.

Some 27,500 children with disabilities were enrolled in Moroccan schools in 2024, for a total budget of MAD 396 million, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Naima Ben Yahya, said on Tuesday.
