During the event, Faqiri also received an honorary award from “Citizen Innovation,” a Singaporean alliance working to promote innovators, as well as the title of “Innovation Icon” awarded by the Malaysian Ministry of Defense.

The prize-winning Moroccan project, the only African representative at the Seoul show, is a device to generate clean electrical energy, offering higher efficiency than solar and wind technologies.

Modular in various sizes, the device, prototypes of which will be developed shortly, is capable of converting gravitational and magnetic energy into mechanical energy, which is then transformed into green, sustainable electrical energy.

Faqiri expressed in a statement to MAP his great pride in this new award, the fifth in 2024, as well as in representing Morocco at international scientific forums.

He recalled that this invention had received international recognition, notably in the Middle East at the International Invention Fair in Kuwait, at the Geneva Fair and at the Tokyo International Exhibition of Inventions, where it won the gold medal and the grand prize.

The invention also earned an award at the 9th International Inventions Fair, held on October 2-6 in Adana, Turkey, he added.

The Moroccan inventor stressed that this project will contribute to change energy production in terms of environmental protection and preservation, enabling greenhouse gas emissions to be reduced by 60% to 70% over the next 20 years.

He expressed his hope that this invention would make a significant contribution to Morocco’s efforts in the field of renewable energies, while declaring himself open to all initiatives aimed at exploiting the advanced technologies it proposes.

Moroccan inventor Fouad Faqiri won, on Friday, the gold medal at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SSIF), held in the Korean capital on November 27-30.
