Upon arrival on board, the delegation was welcomed by Rear Admiral Sean R. Bailey, Commander of the 8th Carrier Strike Group, and Captain Dave Snowden, Commander of the USS Truman, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
During this visit, the Moroccan delegation received briefings on the missions of the Carrier Strike Group and its operational capabilities. On this occasion, the Moroccan flag was raised aboard the aircraft carrier.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Moroccan and American officials to commend the momentum of bilateral military cooperation and discuss issues of common interest, particularly regional security, enhancing the ability of both armed forces to act jointly against diverse and evolving threats, and expanding joint exercises in the air and naval domains, the statement concluded.
