This anticipated event, launched in the presence of H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Moroccan Olympic champion Nawal El Moutwakel and the representative of the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, celebrates the Morocco-Qatar friendship through an inspiring journey to discover the Kingdom’s scenic and diverse landscapes.
Led by entrepreneur and renown Qatari athlete Ali bin Towar Al Kuwari, “CultuRide” also embodies the mission of the “Years of Culture” initiative to deepen international ties through shared experiences.
On November 16-22, cyclists will span over 600 kilometers, crossing some of the Kingdom’s emblematic sites and hidden treasures, and meeting local communities.
Al Kuwari, the event’s official ambassador, told MAP that “CultuRide” is an opportunity to discover the potential and rich heritage of Morocco, adding that the initiative fosters meaningful connections through shared exploration, as each stage of the tour offers intimate glimpses of the Kingdom’s ancient heritage, culture and traditions.
He also explained that this event, marked by the participation of Qataris (doctors, engineers, pilots, etc.) of different age groups, reflects “our conviction that these shared experiences forge stronger links between peoples, communities and nations”.
For his part, Mustapha Al Tajer, one of the participants in this event, said in a similar statement that the tour was an ideal opportunity for participants to discover first-hand the richness and diversity of Morocco’s heritage and admire the splendor of its natural sites.
In turn, Adil Kharbouch, Moroccan cycling champion in 2003, welcomed the initiative and the organization of this event in Morocco, known for the practice of this sport.
The seven-day tour will take cyclists to emblematic destinations such as Marrakech, Tangier and villages in the Atlas Mountains.
