Following the floods that devastated several regions in Spain, HM King Mohammed VI has given His Very High Instructions to the Interior Minister to hold a phone call with his Spanish peer and inform him of Morocco’s full readiness to dispatch rescue teams and provide all necessary assistance to Spain to deal with this natural disaster.

An exceptional Moroccan convoy, comprising 24 vacuum-pump trucks and 70 operators, arrived in Spain on Wednesday to assist with relief efforts in the Valencia region, which was severely impacted by Storm Dana.

This support testifies to Morocco’s firm determination to actively contribute to the rescue efforts in a spirit of mutual aid and fraternity with Spain, Benyaich told MAP.

Through this Royal commitment, embodied by the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the values of respect, friendship and active solidarity that form the very essence of the deep ties between the two nations, the diplomat stressed.

Benyaich also recalled that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates had swiftly taken action to assist Moroccans living in the flood-affected areas.

According to the Moroccan diplomat, the outpouring of national solidarity with Spain was mirrored by the Moroccan community in Spain, which responded with remarkable mobilization to participate in relief efforts in the disaster regions.

Benyaich took the opportunity to commend the Moroccan associations and countless volunteers whose tangible support and visible solidarity have strengthened the bonds of fraternity between Moroccan and Spanish peoples.

On High Royal Instructions, Morocco demonstrates its active solidarity with the Spanish people by mobilizing extensive logistical resources to support relief efforts in the areas affected by the recent flooding in the Valencia region, Morocco's ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, said.
