These discussions took place in the presence of the Moroccan Ambassador Othmane Bahnini, on the sidelines of the World Web Summit, which continues until November 14 in the Portuguese capital. The talks centered on ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in digital fields, information technologies, and the digitalization of public administration.

During the meeting, El Fallah Seghrouchni presented the national strategy Morocco Digital 2030, launched last September, and reviewed Morocco’s digital transformation projects, particularly in the development of the digital economy, support for start-ups, education, and scientific research.

She also expressed Morocco’s interest in learning from Portugal’s experience in Proximity Administration to facilitate citizens’ access to digital public services, highlighting projects like “large language models” (LLM), a massive language model aimed at strengthening digital innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as the “AI Factory,” a facility dedicated to artificial intelligence.

For his part, Rodrigues da Silva presented Portugal’s digital transformation strategy and the Action Plan for promoting the country’s digital transition by 2030. He emphasized that this strategy aims to strengthen digital infrastructure and transform public administration through simplified electronic transactions and support for start-ups and innovation, while creating an environment conducive to the growth of technology companies.

Digital cooperation between Morocco and Portugal was the focus of discussions held on Tuesday in Lisbon between Morocco's Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and the Portuguese Secretary of State for Modernization and Digitalization, Alberto Rodrigues da Silva.
