Speaking at a conference during the inaugural day of “Paris Infraweek,” one of the main European events dedicated to infrastructure financing, Benchaâboun noted that sustainable infrastructure “meets the expectations of our societies, particularly in terms of mobility, securing water resources, energy transition, and technological innovation.”

“Today, Morocco is establishing itself as a land of opportunities, thanks to a constantly improving business climate. For more than two decades, ambitious reforms have modernized our infrastructure, simplified administrative processes, and opened new sectors to investors, particularly in the automotive industry, aerospace, and renewable energies,” he noted during this conference on Morocco-France infrastructure.

He also stated that “our political stability and our open economy, supported by several strategic free trade agreements, make us a strategic crossroads between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.”

This meeting, he said, comes at an important time marked by a renewal of Franco-Moroccan relations. “The signing, last Monday, of the Declaration on the “Reinforced Exceptional Partnership” between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron inaugurates a new chapter and a bold phase of cooperation,” Benchaâboun affirmed.

Organized by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance and Paris Europlace—an organization representing Paris’ financial position, “Paris Infraweek” aims at bringing together the most influential players of the infrastructure investment industry worldwide for an open, thorough dialogue on recent developments and key trends in Infrastructure Finance.

This edition, taking place from November 4 to 8 under the theme “Infrastructure Driving Global Decarbonization,” focuses on the central role of infrastructure in the ecological and digital transition of our economies, as well as its contribution to green reindustrialization.

The field of sustainable infrastructure stands out as a privileged area for cooperation between Morocco and France, said Mohamed Benchaâboun, Director General of the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment, on Monday in Paris.
