A data matching operation carried out by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that the 30 year-old suspect was subject to an international wanted notice issued by the national central bureau in Paris, for alleged involvement in a case of death threats, damage to other people’s belongings, offending a civil servant and infringement of other people’s property, the same sources specifies.
The suspect was placed in police custody, until brought before the competent public prosecutor’s office, says the same source. The Interpol office in Rabat, affiliated with the Moroccan Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), was commissioned to notify its French counterpart of this arrest under the extradition procedure.
This arrest is part of the Moroccan police’s commitment to strengthening international security cooperation, particularly in the prosecution and arrest of persons wanted internationally for cross-border crimes.
