Speaking after talks with the French Minister Delegate for Energy, Olga Givernet, in the presence of the Minister for Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, Zidane said that “partnership relations between Rabat and Paris are very solid,” stressing that “France is a very important partner for Morocco.” In 2023, France accounted for almost a third of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Morocco.

According to the Minister, these talks with Givernet were an opportunity to review the Kingdom’s enormous potential as a strategic partner of the African continent in general and of France in particular, notably in the fields of energy transition, decarbonization and the reconfiguration of global value chains.

He also emphasized that, thanks to the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco is endowed with very significant assets, notably in the economic field, high-level infrastructures and qualified human resources, in addition to its undeniable energy capacities, including green energy.

The Morocco-France energy agreements signed on Monday represent a promising new phase in the bilateral partnership, said Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, in Rabat on Tuesday.
