Crowds lined the streets from Rabat-Salé Airport to “Bab Assoufara,” waving flags and cheering enthusiastically as the Royal Procession passed.
The residents of the twin cities expressed their joy and happiness at the start of this state visit, which will certainly breathe new life into the ties of friendship and cooperation rooted in the history of the two countries and peoples.
In an atmosphere of celebration, Moroccan and French flags adorned the buildings and streets, creating a festive backdrop for the occasion. The cities of Rabat and Salé donned their finest decorations, underscoring the historical and symbolic importance of this visit in further cementing bilateral relations.
People of all ages gathered along the procession route, cheering and waving flags in tribute to the Moroccan-French friendship, giving a warm ovation to the two Heads of State, His Majesty the King and the French President. Folk troupes from various Moroccan regions performed traditional songs and dances, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere in honor of the strong bond between the two nations.
As the Royal Procession passed, the inhabitants saluted the two Heads of State, while cheering the Sovereign and glorifying the Moroccan-French friendship.
His Majesty the King and President Macron acknowledged the jubilant crowds, who were waving Moroccan and French flags.
In a gesture of warmth and spontaneity, His Majesty King Mohammed VI paused the procession to join the French President in greeting the crowds, eliciting joyful cheers from onlookers.
Upon arrival at “Bab Assoufara”, the Royal Procession proceeded towards Mechouar Square in the Royal Palace of Rabat, escorted by the Royal Guard’s band and cavalry.
It is a tradition that the Royal Guard’s cavalry performs such parades when the Sovereign welcomes great guests of the Kingdom to highlight the special dimensions of bilateral relations and the deep ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic.
