Speaking at the opening of the Morocco-Estonia e-Connect forum on digital culture in administrative practices, Mezzour stated that Morocco has made significant progress with over 600 portals and online public services, underlining the need for greater consistency in these services.

In this respect, she reiterated her department’s commitment to accelerating this digitalization and ensuring that every citizen, in every region of the Kingdom, can access public services online in an efficient and secure manner.

Digital administration meets specific needs in areas as varied and important as education, health, justice, investment, entrepreneurship and many others, she added.

In this respect, the Moroccan official noted that the recently launched Digital Morocco 2030 strategy is open to international cooperation to make Morocco a regional leader in the field, with the aim of focusing efforts on the satisfaction of users of public services, reducing service delays, simplifying users’ journeys in terms of steps, documents and travel, and increasing the use of digital services provided to the population.

For his part, President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), Ahmed Réda Chami, pushed for speeding up the total dematerialization of public services and strengthen infrastructure in less developed regions.

He also stressed the need to strengthen cybersecurity, by implementing robust measures to protect sensitive data of citizens and businesses.

He also highlighted that digital transition requires advanced skills in software development, cybersecurity, AI and data science, hence the need to develop talent to support this transition.

In the same vein, he emphasized the imperative of seizing the opportunities offered by new technologies to catch up in terms of digitalization, but also to anticipate and integrate emerging technologies.

Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Ghita Mezzour called on Monday in Rabat to promote a true digital culture within public administration.
