Moroccan Royal Navy Assists 38 Sub-Saharan Would-Be Migrants off Dakhla

The pirogue set sail from Mauritanian coasts on October 14 for the Canary Islands, according to a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

The rescued would-be migrants were brought safely to the the port of Dakhla, then handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures after receiving the necessary care, the same source added. 

Morocco’s Royal Navy intercepted, on Tuesday 170km southwest off Dakhla, a pirogue carrying 38 sub-Saharan would-be migrants, including one woman and a minor.
