The meeting also enabled the parties to review prospects for bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, notably trade and investment development.

Speaking on this occasion, Mezzour said that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss ways of developing partnership between the two countries in the fields of information, technology, e-governance and innovation.

Highlighting Morocco’s numerous assets, competitive advantages and investment opportunities, Mezzour underlined the crucial role of the Kingdom’s industrial strategy, as well as its recently launched digitalization strategy, in the emergence of a “vibrant local industrial ecosystem.”

“Morocco has a competitive industrial base, the necessary infrastructure and human resources, as well as an adequate business climate,” he added, highlighting the various opportunities offered by the Kingdom in promising sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, textiles, pharmaceuticals and renewable energies.

For his part, Tsahkna pointed out that 99% of public services in his country are now available online, thanks to the implementation of innovative e-governance systems.

He also welcomed the Kingdom’s leadership in Africa in the field of digitalization, voicing his country’s willingness to work together with Morocco in this field to mutually benefit from the exchange of experience.

Talks between Morocco’s Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour and Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, held Monday in Rabat, focused on bolstering economic ties between the two nations.
