Speaking at a joint session with the Central American Parliament (Parlacen) to mark the 10th anniversary of the Moroccan Parliament’s observer status, Ould Errachid said Morocco views parliamentary diplomacy as a strategic tool to strengthen ties with Central America and the Caribbean.

He described South-South cooperation as a vital instrument not only to reduce global inequalities but also to foster trust, solidarity, and shared development, particularly with Latin America and the Caribbean.

Ould Errachid also highlighted Morocco’s Atlantic strategy aimed at integrating Sahel countries into global trade routes, and welcomed growing support from Central American states for Morocco’s territorial integrity, particularly on the Sahara issue.

The Parlacen delegation, led by its Speaker Carlos René Hernández, is on an official visit to Laayoune, which includes meetings with regional officials and site visits to development projects.

South-South co-development and cooperation are at the core of Morocco’s foreign policy under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, the Speaker of the House of Councilors Mohamed Ould Errachid said on Wednesday.
