Signed by the Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the agreement aims to revamp BNRM’s institutional portal, while promoting services related to digital books and legal deposit.
It also aims to enhance the digitization of old periodicals and documents available at the BNRM, as well as historical manuscripts, in addition to setting up a software program dedicated to people with special needs.
The agreement also seeks to digitize book collections donated to the BNRM and make them accessible to student researchers.
On this occasion, Bensaid emphasized that the ministry remains committed to the digitalization of its services in order to bring its cultural activities closer to all citizens, particularly young people.
“Although the National Library of the Kingdom is based in Rabat, its services can be offered throughout the Kingdom thanks to digitization,” he noted, adding that additional services will soon be digitized to streamline processes and expand offerings, such as the “Youth Pass.”
