“Ericsson, a global company that has been present in Morocco for more than four decades, has always worked to support the Kingdom in its digital transformation,” Lahlou Kassi said in an interview with MAP on the sidelines of the 3rd GITEX Africa Morocco, which runs through Wednesday in Marrakech.

This is a pivotal moment for Morocco as it moves steadily toward the development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G and cloud computing, she said, adding that “this evolution will undoubtedly transform the country’s digital landscape.”

Morocco’s 2030 digital strategy paves the way for closer collaboration among all stakeholders, both in the government sector and among industries operating in the country, Lahlou Kassi said.

The Ericsson Morocco chief also noted that GITEX Africa Morocco is an ideal opportunity to showcase the most innovative technologies in the digital sector, while also providing a space to exchange insights on the evolution and challenges of mobile connectivity.

“This edition of GITEX Africa Morocco, which has seen strong interest since its opening, highlights the importance of collaboration and the creation of a regional innovation ecosystem,” she said.

“Through this platform, we are seeing strong collaboration between multinationals, leading tech players such as Ericsson, Moroccan companies, startups and government institutions,” Lahlou Kassi added, noting that such dialogue will create real value for Moroccan consumers and businesses.

Swedish telecom giant Ericsson is working to support Morocco in its digital transformation as part of the country’s 2030 digital strategy, president of Ericsson Morocco and vice president for West and Southern Africa, Majda Lahlou Kassi.
