Morocco Opens Technical Investigation Following Accident Involving Air Ocean Aircraft

The impact caused significant material damage to the aircraft, according to a press release from the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, which also confirmed that the accident resulted in injuries to the three crew members and one person on the ground.

All four injured individuals were immediately attended to and urgently transferred to a specialized clinic in the city of Fez, the same source reported.

In line with established procedures, the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA), under the authority of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, has dispatched a team of technical investigators to the site to carry out the necessary investigations in order to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.

The Ministry assures that all necessary measures are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances of the event and to ensure the safety of air transport.

Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

The Ministry also informs the public that this incident has not impacted air traffic or the normal operation of Fez-Saïss airport, the press release concluded.

Following the accident that occurred on Friday, April 11 at 4:10 p.m. (local time), involving a Hawker XP800 aircraft, registered CN-TKC and operated by the Moroccan airline Air Ocean, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics informs the public that the aircraft, en route from Marrakech to Fez-Saïss Airport, veered off the runway upon landing, crashing into the airport perimeter wall.
