The agreement was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Kingdom of Morocco’s Academy Abdeljalil Lahjomri and Jean-Noël Fiessinger, President of the French National Academy of Medicine, on the eve of the “Franco-Moroccan Health Day,” jointly organized by the two institutions.

This agreement aims to foster partnerships and exchanges between the two academies, hospitals, medical faculties, and research institutions in both countries.

In a statement to MAP, Lahjomri described the agreement as a major step forward in scientific and intellectual cooperation between both parties.

This collaboration paves the way for “more promising” initiatives, particularly through the organization of conferences, study days, and symposia, but above all through the training of PhD students in specific fields, he stated, emphasizing the importance of training in neuroscience.

For his part, Fiessinger stressed that the agreement aims to promote exchanges between hospitals, medical faculties, research institutions, and other key healthcare stakeholders in both countries, noting that it is part of “a long tradition of cooperation between France and Morocco in the health sector.”

“We are convinced that discussions on these issues will help develop shared approaches and appropriate responses, both in terms of public health policy and in training and research,” he added.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s Ambassador to France, Samira Sitail, highlighted the importance of the medical profession and emphasized its essential role in a world marked by turbulent times.

She stressed, in this regard, that this gathering should primarily serve medicine but also strengthen ties between Morocco and France.

The Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco and the French National Academy of Medicine signed a framework cooperation agreement on Wednesday evening in Paris, covering the medical, scientific, and intellectual fields.
