Speaking at the meeting, Morocco’s Ambassador to Panama Bouchra Boudchiche highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to advancing women’s and family rights within the international framework.

She pointed out to Morocco’s participation in key international agreements, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The diplomat highlighted the strategic reforms and programs driven by HM King Mohammed VI, to boost the economic, social and political empowerment of women, according to a press release from the Moroccan embassy in Panama.

Boudchiche asserted that any development policy should be premised on a human rights approach, allowing women to enjoy, on equal terms with men, all universal and indivisible human rights.

The ambassador also emphasized the initiatives launched by Panama in this area, noting that they reflect the country’s commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, especially in rural areas, in acknowledgment of their crucial role in sustaining food and agricultural systems and in building more equitable societies.

The conference, organized by the Women Journalists Foundation in partnership with the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, honored several women from various fields in recognition of their significant contributions.

Morocco's experience in promoting women's rights was showcased in Panama during a conference marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
