Marrakech Judicial Police Arrests Individual Suspected of Drug, Psychotropic Trafficking

The suspect, who was the subject of several nationwide wanted persons notices, was arrested in coordination with elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in the rural area of “Ben Cheikh” near Marrakech for his alleged involvement in cases linked to drug trafficking and robbery using violence, including a case which was the subject of a judicial investigation conducted by police services against the backdrop of seizing 39,967 psychotropic tablets and 1.784 Kg of cocaine, according to a security source.

Search operations led to the seizure of 600 Rivotril-type psychotropic tablets, 650 grams of cocaine, as well as 9 edged weapons, 7 electronic scales and a sum of money suspected of being the proceeds of this criminal activity, the source adds.

The accused is placed under judicial investigation, supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to unveil the ins and outs of this case and to determine the possible connections of this criminal activity, the same source concludes.
