This surgical procedure, performed recently, restored the right hand of a patient, which had been completely amputated at the wrist following a workplace accident involving an electric saw, according to a press release from CHU Mohammed VI.
This complex surgical operation lasted nearly seven hours, the press release noted, adding that the 52-year-old patient was then placed under strict medical supervision for ten days to ensure the hand regained its vitality.
The patient, who is currently in good health, remains hospitalized in the trauma-orthopedics department at Arrazi Hospital, where he continues to receive the necessary care, including rehabilitation sessions, according to the same source.
This successfully performed procedure adds to a series of achievements accumulated by CHU Mohammed VI in Marrakech, highlighting the competence and expertise of its medical teams, as well as the hospital’s commitment to providing healthcare services that meet the highest standards, the press release concluded.
