This security operation took place in the rural area of Laktout, part of the Ounnana commune near Ouezzane city, according to a press release from the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN).
The search conducted in a residence used by the two suspects, aged 29 and 41, also led to the seizure of 14 kg of chira, eight bladed weapons, and sums of money in both national and foreign currencies, likely proceeds from this criminal activity.
The DGSN also reported the confiscation of three mini-scales, a tear gas canister, two walkie-talkies, and six fake license plates, as well as two vehicles suspected of being used to facilitate these criminal activities.
The suspects have been placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to trace the network’s connections and arrest any accomplices involved in the case.
This security operation is part of the ongoing efforts of the DGSN and DGST in the fight against drug and psychotropic trafficking, according to the same source.
