Morocco is represented by a high-level delegation for the three-day event, which includes government and regional representatives, as well as local authorities from civil society.

The event serves as a platform for exchanging ideas on the progress and the challenges related to transparency, accountability, and civic engagement.

Through roundtable discussions, thematic panels and interactive workshops, participants will address key challenges such as the fight against corruption, digital governance, budget transparency, and access to justice.

By bringing together various stakeholders committed to open governance, this meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and promote innovative initiatives for more transparent and inclusive governance in Africa and the Middle East.

Participants will engage in discussions on strengthening open governance by creating spaces for exchange between governments, civil society, and key actors, and will work on collaborative strategies to improve the development of public policies.

OGP is an international initiative launched on the sidelines of the 66th United Nations General Assembly held in September, 2011 in New York.

The initiative aims to secure concrete commitments from governments towards participatory democracy, placing citizens at the heart of public affairs management by promoting transparency, empowering citizens, combating corruption, and harnessing technology to strengthen good governance.

Africa and the Middle East Regional Meeting for an Open Government Partnership OGP kicked off on Tuesday in Nairobi, with Morocco taking part.
