Anwarpress EN Thursday 6 February 2025 - 17:40

The campaign aims to provide specialized healthcare to over 5,000 beneficiaries, including general medical consultations supported by tele-expertise, multidisciplinary consultations, surgical interventions, as well as specific care for children with autism, cerebral palsy (CP), and Down’s Syndrome, the Foundation said in a press release, adding that it will also offer circumcision services for 60 children aged 1 to 5 years.

The campaign will be deployed near the Hassan II Provincial Hospital in Tan Tan and will cover 14 medical specialties, including pediatrics, gynecology, gastroenterology, cardiology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and ENT.

A specially designed site will accommodate the public for consultations and medical care, the same source pointed out, adding that it is structured around seven mobile medical units from the Foundation: an ophthalmology consultation unit, a gynecology unit, a dental care unit, a biology unit, a radiology-ultrasound unit and a pharmacy.

Additional spaces, including two rooms equipped with tele-expertise equipment have been set up for consultations across various specialties and to ensure optimal patient experience.

In parallel, 40 patients will benefit from intestinal surgeries, and 11 children, including three with disabilities, will receive general surgery interventions. All surgeries will be performed in the operating rooms provided by the hospital.

To ensure the success of this solidarity operation, significant medical and logistical resources have been mobilized. Alongside the Foundation’s teams (medical staff, social workers, and paramedical staff) and those from Tan Tan Provincial Hospital, four volunteer surgical professors and 30 general practitioners and specialists from the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Agadir as well as the Action Urgence association will participate in this campaign.

A specialized team from the Center Mohammed VI National for People with Disabilities (Salé and Agadir Regional Section) will also ensure care for children with disabilities via a team comprised of specialized educators, an orthopedic prosthetist, a psychometrician as well as a physiotherapist.

The implementation of this solidarity campaign is being carried out with the support of local authorities, the Provincial Health and Social Protection Delegation of Tan Tan, Tan Tan Provincial Hospital, the CHU of Agadir, the Association Amis des Malades de l’Hôpital Hassan II de Tan Tan and the association Action Urgence.

The Foundation will continue its efforts to ensure equitable access to healthcare with the next medical campaign scheduled for February 21 in Tafoughalt, a rural commune in the Berkane province.

The Foundation Mohammed V for Solidarity is reinforcing its efforts to enhance access to healthcare, launching an extensive medical campaign from February 7 to 9, 2025, in Tan Tan, which is set to benefit the residents of the city of Tan Tan as well as those from the surrounding communes of Ben Khlil and El Ouatia.
