Led by the “Smart Africa” Alliance, this initiative aims to support structural transformations and key projects in Africa’s digital landscape, particularly in AI. It also seeks to unlock AI’s vast potential to accelerate growth and foster inclusive transformation across the continent.
This Council will consist of policymakers, industry leaders, and key AI ecosystem players tasked with driving digital transformation, encouraging innovation, and formulating policies to accelerate Africa’s digital economy.
“This initiative, which brings together French and English speaking countries on the continent with high-level representations, is based on digital transformation, infrastructure, skills, data, and the market as structuring pillars to target significant financial projects,” Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, emphasized.
In a statement to MAP, Seghrouchni recalled the first High-Level Forum on AI, held in Morocco last June, which resulted in the Rabat Consensus on AI in Africa, placing the Kingdom at the heart of AI-related initiatives.
The Minister said that holding these discussions in Rabat clearly reflects the recognition by Smart Africa Alliance member states of Morocco’s role in AI development and digital transformation, adding that the Kingdom is among the best-equipped African countries in terms of data centers.
Organized by Morocco’s General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI), part of the National Defense Administration, the African Cybersecurity Forum, which runs until February 5, features Moroccan and foreign experts, senior government officials, business leaders, cybersecurity professionals, researchers and academics.
