Speaking at the opening of the African Cybersecurity Forum, held from February 3 to 5 in Rabat, Loudiyi emphasized that the Kingdom continues to play a pioneering role in strengthening cooperative relations with African countries through the development of “rich and concrete” programs.

” In line with the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco believes that Africa’s progress hinges on the values of solidarity and cooperation, with a special focus on South-South partnerships,” he said.

To this end, His Majesty the King has launched several initiatives, such as the Atlantic Initiative for the Sahel countries, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, and the new Dakhla Atlantic port, he recalled.

The Kingdom continues to uphold the same commitment to cybersecurity and fosters cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries to enhance their expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and more, he added.

He also praised the efforts of Arab and African countries in cybersecurity, highlighting the establishment of ecosystems and infrastructures designed to address emerging cyber challenges.

Loudiyi called for greater cooperation and coordination in this area in light of the increasing threats to digital infrastructure across the continent. “This pan-African cooperation is likely to promote a resilient cyberspace and foster a secure digital environment, as well as support governments’ efforts in digital transformation.”

The African Cybersecurity Forum, themed “Artificial Intelligence and Trusted Cloud: A Pillar for Strengthening Cybersecurity,” is organized by Morocco’s Directorate General for Information Systems Security (DGSSI) pursuant to Royal High Instructions.

The event gathers Moroccan and international experts, including senior officials, business leaders, cybersecurity professionals, and researchers to discuss the strategic issues related to digital transformation and securing cyberspace in Africa.

Morocco is firmly committed to fostering "solid and concerted" African cooperation to address the risks threatening cyberspace on the continent, stated the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the Administration of National Defense, Abdellatif Loudiyi, on Monday in Rabat.
