Morocco's Highway Authority Urges Caution amid Severe Weather Forecast

In a statement, the Moroccan body “strongly” advises users of the highway routes linking Rabat, Fez to Oujda, Berrechid to Beni Mellal, Larache, Tangier to Tanger Med, and Tetouan to Fnideq to “remain vigilant” and to “thoroughly check traffic conditions before traveling.”

This announcement follows a weather alert issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, warning of snowfall in areas of 1,400-meter (4,500-feet) altitude, locally heavy thunderstorms, and strong winds from Wednesday to Friday in certain provinces of the Kingdom.

“As this period coincides with the school holidays and a significant return traffic flow is expected over the weekend, ADM urges travelers to plan their trips in advance and exercise extra caution on the affected highways,” the statement added.

For any traffic updates or assistance, ADM encourages users to call the hotline at 5050 or consult the ADM Traffic app for real-time information, stressing that its teams and partner organizations operating on the highway network remain on high alert with full mobilization.

Morocco's Highway Authority (ADM) has called on users of several highways linking multiple central and northern cities to exercise caution following an alert forecasting severe weather conditions from Wednesday to Friday.
