Canadian Official Highlights Cooperation Opportunities Between Morocco, Canada in Water & Environment

 Following her talks with Morocco’s Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, the Canadian official told the press that her visit to the Kingdom is an opportunity to reinforce the strong partnership between Canada and Morocco, as well as to learn about the Moroccan experience in managing water resources and to explore the opportunities offered by the Kingdom in this field.

“I think there’s a lot of opportunity in the future for Canada and Morocco to collaborate together so that we can make improvements and work with the rest of Africa (…) on the environment and water,” she stressed.

For his part, Baraka said that this meeting provided an opportunity to discuss water policy in Morocco, as well as opportunities for cooperation with Canada in this sector. 

In this respect, the Minister welcomed Canada’s support, particularly at the technical level, as well as its backing for water and irrigation projects.

The water and environment sectors offer great cooperation opportunities for Morocco and Canada, and even with the rest of Africa, Canada's Assistant Deputy Minister for Africa, Pan-Geographic Affairs and Global Affairs, Cheryl Urban, said in Rabat on Friday.
