In talks with the Upper House Speaker, Mohamed Ould Errachid, Ngamana praised His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s vision “to achieve unity, solidarity, and African integration,” as noted in a statement from the House.
The meeting also addressed various aspects of Morocco-CEMAC cooperation as well as regional and continental issues of mutual interest.
Both parties highlighted the deep bilateral and multilateral ties between Morocco, CEMAC, and Africa, noting that the visit opens new opportunities for strengthening cooperation for mutual progress and solidarity through a win-win partnership and South-South cooperation.
The challenges facing Africa require, now more than ever, intensifying efforts and implementing collective approaches that promote solidarity and mutual support, the statement emphasized.
In this respect, the Upper House Speaker praised the “noble and brotherly” stance of CEMAC member countries on the Moroccan Sahara, noting that this consistent support aligns with the growing international backing for the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s vision.
Ould Errachid highlighted Morocco’s significant economic presence and investments in Africa, including CEMAC countries, aiming to boost trade, support economic and regional integration, enhance financial cooperation, and strengthen ties in key sectors like renewable energy and maritime fishing.
Ould Errachid particularly welcomed the Royal initiatives related to the Atlantic African countries and enabling access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project.
For his part, the President of CEMAC Parliament praised His Majesty the King’s enlightened vision and His sustained efforts to embody African solidarity and regional integration.
Ngamana also expressed his full readiness to strengthen the solid ties between Morocco and the countries of the Community, recalling the important roles of CEMAC, particularly in the field of parliamentary diplomacy.
Furthermore, the African official highlighted the commitment of the CEMAC Parliament, alongside the heads of state, to bring the visions of the peoples closer together and deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, noting the positive outcomes for the six member countries of the Community within their cooperation with Morocco, particularly in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, and diplomacy.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the large-scale initiatives launched under the guidance of His Majesty the King “to strengthen multilateral African cooperation,” through the enhancement of the Atlantic-African space and the realization of the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline.
He also pointed out that CEMAC’s support for these projects will grow in the future, following the planned membership of five additional countries in the Community.
