Morocco’s Defence Minister Receives Cabo Verdean Peer

During this visit, the two officials discussed bilateral cooperation and explored ways to strengthen it in areas of common interest, particularly in sharing expertise in the military field, according to a press release from the National Defense Administration.

Loudyi underlined Morocco’s efforts to foster regional stability and security, highlighting the Royal Initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to transform Africa’s Atlantic seaboard into a hub for economic integration, peace and prosperity, involving all Atlantic and Sahel countries. 

For her part, the Cabo Verdean minister emphasized the high priority of the partnership with Morocco, voicing her admiration for the various South-South and regional cooperation initiatives for the benefit of the African continent, launched under the leadership of His Majesty the King.

At the end of the meeting, attended by Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, FAR Inspector General and Commander of the South Zone, the two parties expressed their shared ambition to strengthen relations through the forthcoming signature of a draft agreement on military cooperation, currently being finalized. This pact will enshrine the solid ties of friendship and mutual respect linking the two countries, concludes the press release.

In keeping with the High Royal Instructions, Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of National Defense Administration, received, on Friday at the Administration's headquarters, Cabo Verde's State Minister of Defence Janine Tatiana Santos Lelis, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and a high-ranking delegation, as well as Cabo Verde's Ambassador to Rabat.
