The Kingdom is represented in this session by a delegation chaired by Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the African Union (AU) and the UNECA, Mohamed Arrouchi.

This PRC session marks the start of preparations for the annual Ordinary Summit of the African Union. This summit will be particularly significant as it will see the election of the new leadership of the African Union Commission (AUC).

The elections, which are aimed at appointing the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Commissioners of the pan-African organization’s executive, represent a key moment that will shape the Union’s leadership for the next few years.

The 49th ordinary session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC), a crucial stage in preparations for the next African Union (AU) Summit, scheduled for mid-February, kicked off on Tuesday in Addis Ababa.
