During the opening session, Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Sayed Jalal Al Tabtabaie, said that scouting events contribute to promoting human and social values within the ranks of youth in order to enshrine social participation.
Some 350 scouts, guides and scout leaders are taking part in the forum, organized by the Arab Scout Organization and running until January 17. The program includes ceremonies to pay tribute to world and Arab scouting figures, pioneers and the founders of the Arab Parliamentary Scout Union.
The forum also features meetings of leaders of Arab and Gulf Scout associations, as well as workshops focusing on youth empowerment. According to the organizers, these activities aim to offer participants an enriching experience combining practical training and exchanges, to boost their positive impact within their communities.
Benayad told MAP that Morocco is participating in this Forum with a large delegation, noting that Morocco’s chairmanship of the Maghreb Union of Scouting held its biannual meeting on the sidelines of the scouting activities held in Kuwait in the presence of the presidents of the Federation’s member Scouting associations, international commissioners and members of the Maghreb Youth Advisory Committee.
During this meeting, the recommendations adopted at the Maghreb planning and development seminar held recently in Tripoli were adopted, he noted.
The National Federation of Moroccan Scouting holds the presidency of the Maghreb Union of Scouting for the current 2024-2025 term, which was officially launched at its founding congress in Morocco in 1959, following the Rabat meeting of 1958.
