This event, bringing together 30 young basketball players from around the world, aims to scout talents for teams participating in the Basketball Africa League (BAL 2025). These emerging talents will be closely monitored by club executives, coaches, and recruiters, including coaches who participated in the “Africa Coaches” program during the NBA 2K25 Summer League, held last July in Las Vegas.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday in Rabat to present this edition, BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall highlighted that the event reflects the League’s commitment to promoting African basketball on a global scale, praising the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB) for its pivotal role in this effort.

He further noted that Morocco has become the “natural” choice for hosting such competitions, emphasizing the country’s proven capacity to organize major events at continental, regional, and international levels.

“Morocco represents a shining image of an Africa in action,” stressed the president of the first professional league launched by the NBA outside North America.

As part of “Combine 2025,” the BAL will also host “BAL4HER,” a platform bringing together 20 local U23 female prospects from Rabat and surrounding communities, with a mission to promote gender equality in the African sports ecosystem and celebrate female athletes who inspire young women across the continent. Additionally, the BAL will conduct a training program for 100 local coaches.

It is worth noting that the 5th edition of the BAL will kick off on April 5, 2025, in Rabat and conclude on June 14 in Pretoria, South Africa, showcasing a new season with 12 teams competing in 48 games across Rabat, Dakar, Kigali, and Pretoria.

Morocco will be hosting "Combine 2025", a premier talent-scouting event organized by the Basketball Africa League (BAL), on January 10-12 at the Ibn Yassine Sports Hall in Rabat.
