“During this year, around 4,000 tons were produced on an area of 2,169 hectares, while no violations in terms of non-compliance with regulations were registered,” El Guerrouj stressed in a statement to the press following ANRAC’s Board of Directors meeting, which was marked by the presentation of 2024 achievements and the 2025 action program.
“We presented all the actions undertaken with the institutions, ministries concerned and local authorities in 2024 to supervise and support farmers and investors, in order to comply with regulatory provisions,” he added.
As for 2025, he continued, “we have presented an action plan based first and foremost on the renewal and continuity of actions and operations of supervision, support and above all control, but with a focus on accelerating the structuring of promoting the cannabis sector and strengthening the competitiveness of the national product”.
In 2024, ANRAC issued 3,371 authorizations out of a total of 4,158 applications examined and processed.
These included 3,056 authorizations for 2,907 farmers to grow and produce cannabis, compared to 430 authorizations issued in 2023, as well as 315 authorizations for 158 operators.
