In a Joint Statement published following his meeting with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, Van Klaveren Stork highlighted the “large-scale reforms undertaken during the last two decades, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as well as the continuous efforts for political, economic and social development.”

The Chilean Minister also “welcomed the strategic initiatives launched by His Majesty the King, particularly the Initiative of African countries bordering the Atlantic, as a strategy aiming to strengthen cooperation for shared peace and prosperity for the countries of Africa’s Atlantic rim.”

During this meeting, Bourita also presented the recent initiatives announced by HM King Mohammed VI, notably the initiative to promote stability, security and economic prosperity in African countries bordering the Atlantic, the initiative to promote access to the Atlantic Ocean for Sahel States, and the strategic Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project, which aims to strengthen regional integration and stimulate economic development along and beyond the Atlantic coast.

He also pointed out that the Kingdom of Morocco, an observer member of the Pacific Alliance, is a strategic partner for Latin American countries, a gateway to Africa and a platform for strengthening the exchange of experience and promoting fruitful partnerships between countries in both regions.

The Chilean Minister is paying a working visit to Morocco as part of his participation in the “Congress of the Future,” hosted by the Moroccan Parliament on December 17-18, in collaboration with the “Future Encounters Foundation,” the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic of Chile.

Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Alberto Van Klaveren Stork commended, here Wednesday, the large-scale reforms undertaken under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, as well as the Sovereign’s continuous efforts for political, economic and social development.
