The operation, carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), took place at a farm in a rural area near Souk Sebt Ouled Nemma.

Police arrested a 35-year-old suspect at the scene and uncovered the massive drug stash stored in a warehouse on the premises. Authorities also seized two cargo transport vehicles and a significant sum of money believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

The suspect has been placed in custody as part of a judicial investigation overseen by the competent prosecutor’s office. Meanwhile, police continue their search for additional individuals involved in the criminal network, with investigations underway to identify and apprehend all suspects linked to the operation.

A major international drug trafficking attempt involving 3.96 metric tons (4.36 U.S. tons) of cannabis resin, locally known as chira, was foiled early Wednesday morning by Beni Mellal's judicial police, according to a police statement.
